課程概述 |
This course will be divided into three parts: (1) dry granular flows (framework for many existing models for dense system) (2) interaction at particle level: solid contact vs. flow-body interaction (3) solid-liquid two phase flows in two limiting conditions--suspension vs. debris flow.
However complex are the existing flow models, we will focus on the physical meaning and the concepts behind each approach and learn from dimension analysis, if applicable. |

Obtain general understanding of the bulk behavior of granular flow and solid-liquid flows in different regimes; understand the general concepts behind the available models, strengthen theoretical background on particle-level mechanics (both solid & fluid); develop a sense of studying complex systems |
